After their successfull "Empty bottles & wasted nights"-Album, IN OTHER CLIMES are back with their third and long awaited full length "Leftover". After seven EPs and Albums the steamroller returns with eleven tracks mixing Metal-, Thrash-, Hardcore- and Punk-influences with groove, Rock'n'Roll-solos and catchy choruses. "Leftover" is a huge step for IN OTHER CLIMES showing the true potential of the band built through the years. Being one of the most active French bands and well-known for their video clips, IN OTHER CLIMES gained a strong international fan base through the years while touring all across the globe (Europe, USA, Brazil) and sharing stages with bands such as Down, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Hatebreed, Entombed, Walls Of Jericho, Comeback Kid, just to name a few. IN OTHER CLIMES are too heavy for the Hardcore Kids and to punchy for the Metalheads. But when the show begins, a true blast of hate and revolt comes to minds and hearts, changing the whole crowd and band into one voice screaming: "ONE LIFE, ONE CHANCE, NO FUCKIN' REGRETS!"
The earth is destroyed and mankind escapes into the depth of the sea. But the struggle for survival never ends and so new societies, the obsession for authority, anger and passion continue to exist. It's a story inspired by the deep sea which ICHOR use on "Depths" to mesmerize their listeners and fans. The band has entered the famous Hertz Studios in Białystok/Poland to record their new album - a studio which is also responsible for albums of bands like Behemoth, Decapitated and Vader. ICHOR also recorded their last album Benthic Horizion there and underlined with the renewed choice their affinity to the strong and brutal sound that makes this studio so famous. ICHOR have recorded an album that unites all musical USPs of this band: American death metal-oriented guitar riffs on compact drumming, occasionally broken by mid-tempo passages and some Black Metal -Parts, but always energetic and on the highest technical level. In elegiac and all-crushing blast beat outbreaks ICHOR dive into the deep sea and take the listener on a journey through an audiophile apocalyptic fantasy story.
Trier, Germany’s oldest city, is now enriched by another attraction. Ichor was founded there in April 2008 by members of other established local bands. It was their ambition to make pure death metal that mixes technical, melodic and modern elements. Their first proof of performance is now coming over the world via Bastardized Recordings: “The Siege” offers an complex yet brutal mixture of modern Death Metal in the vein of Bands such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Despised Icon and Suicide Silence. Nothing less but a perfect production done by Phil Hillen from the SU2-Studio and the mastering by Simon from War From A Harlots Mouth is responsible for the massive wall of sound Ichor create on their first full-length. Ichor – The Siege. Kill or be killed!
Germanys Deathcore powerhouse FUCK YOUR SHADOW FROM BEHIND is ready to conquer europe and the rest of the world. After they played tons of shows and showed up on several festivals, such as Summer-Breeze, their sonic firestorm is now banned on their debut entitled “Freigeist”. And this masterpiece of a debut is ready to destroy the most prominent audio devices worldwide. This for sure: That Würzburg-based six-piece will blow away fans of unique Metal in a blink of an eye. Expect relentless blast-attacks, mixed-up with some jazzy elements and spiced with german lyrics that are worth reading every single line. Musically FUCK YOUR SHADOW FROM BEHIND are set somewhere between War From a Harlots Mouth, The Black Dahlia Murder and Despised Icon. For those of you who need comparisons.
Sometimes you can't even believe the name of a band. Fuck Your Shadow From Behind is such a name. Six guys play in the band, included are two singers, releasing an album on Bastardized Recording and according to the logo I suspected them to play Deathcore. I wasn't right and I wasn't wrong. They are influenced by it, but mix it with Metalcore, the type Unearth played in the early days.
That means an original mix with interesting riffs and also a lot of dynamics; one of the things most Deathcore and Metalcore bands lack these days. Of course they include the typical Slayer riffs but I am glad that they at least tried to come up with an own face. The lyrics are in German, giving the music a cold tone and the screams of Adrian and Tobias are inspired enough to keep your attention at ‘Freigeist’.
In the songs “Es War Die Zeit”, “Verse Der Freiheit” and “Zweilicht” the same drive is showed as on “Slaughter of the Soul” from At the Gates. The melancholic end of “Zweilicht” is completely different so you can’t expect what’s next with Fuck Your Shadow From Behind. This continues on the rest of the album; the Deathcore vibe is coming back in “Tristesse”.
The band was founded in August 2007, only released a Demo CD so far and can be proud of ‘Freigeist’ because it isn’t easy to come up with an interesting and original debut in the sea of Metalcore releases. Despite the hilarious band name.
Since their official formation in early 2007, Lower Hell are an unstoppable nuclear hurricaine rushing through Europe, leaving nothing but wasteland. Imagine a wild mixture of fast Thrash Metal with a fine melodic edge and a well-meant dose of rock combined with some really good ideas for those who love Bands like Lamb of God, Darkest Hour or even (no joke!) Dragonforce. Hellevator offers everything the modern Metalhead wants to hear: Unbelieveable fast doublebass-drumming, hypnotic solos and – of course – a bunch of perfect arranged sonic hurricane.
For some reason, metalcore and melodic death metal seem to go hand in hand often these days. While most examples of this that I’ve heard fall very short in the realm of originality, Lower Hell seems to be the exception with “Hellevator.” While the name is pretty cheesy, the music is very well composed and while the band tends to play in circles in some parts, this album is a solid piece of melodic and pulse-pounding metal.
I think what helps “Hellevator” transcend the redundancy that metalcore tends to bring is the fact that Lower Hell manages to mix the genres very tastefully. The melody is well interspersed and manages to become very catchy, especially in later parts of the album. A good portion of the music is driven by thrash riffs, but Lower Hell manages to cram more than enough Gothenburg influence into the music, while still maintaining a bit of the metalcore sound. “Aftershow Party in a Casket” is by far the highlight of the album, with a powerful mid-section that features some very emotionally driven guitar work. The track is very well written and contains lots of variation without losing the core structure. “Nothing Personal, Just Business” has an interesting classic rock tinge that maintains lots of the melodeath sound, yet brings something a little different. The title track features a beautiful strings intro and becomes very evocative. Occasional bass solo work is sprinkled throughout the tracks and adds a lot to the music.
Unfortunately, not every track is quite successful. “Tonight I’m Coming Home” starts well with a beautiful strings intro, but devolves into a pretty typical metalcore sound. The transition is not quite successful and pretty much ruins the song. “This Is Vengeance” attempts some stop-start guitar work and time signature changes, but falls short and doesn’t really fit with the rest of the album. Some sections devolve into an oft-used metalcore formula, and while they definitely detract from the album, the awesome melodic riffing that is present in most of the tracks makes up for it. Some parts could be heavier, but it’s not like the sound is over-the-top clean anyway.
Lower Hell’s “Hellevator” was a surprising album for me. The band manages to traverse genres, particularly metalcore and melodic death metal, very well. While “Hellevator” certainly isn’t a perfect album by any stretch of the imagination, it definitely contains some solid metal. The majority of the riffing is quite righteous, and while I may not jam this one repeatedly, it’s definitely worth a listen.
Highs: Efficient mix of metalcore and melo-death.
Lows: "Tonight I'm Coming Home" and "This Is Vengeance" fizzle out.
Bottom line: Though some parts don't deliver, this album mixes metalcore and melodic death metal very well.
JAPANISCHE KAMPFHÖRSPIELE on film. More extreme than ever before.
This DVD shows absolute reality: JAKA on tour, JAKA in bed, JAKA on stage, Pierre throwing up.
10 years of JAKA in 3 hours. This is only for real fans!
Beware, degenerated Generation XP! Cleanse your pallet with a potent jackhammer while the German ambassadors of Grindpunk incite you with more short prose of visionism about us and society, molest you with more vocal-battles between deep-grunted growls and high-pitched screamings, penetrate you with more devastating grind, and annoy you with more ultra-fast HC, mind-blowing blast beats plus a fair amount of good old death metal. Don’t expect less, stand back and let JaKa in!
I’ll start with a brief overview of JaKa, fully named Japanische Kampfhörspiele. It started out with a common interest in Grindcore by two students. JaKa was a noiseband at first and not actually a band to be held serious. With some other musicians they recorded some demo’s like ‘Sektion JaKa’ which were all very bad produced and not to be considered decent grindcore, of course it was quite underground. The first real attack on the music business was with their first studio produced album ‘JaKa’. The sound was a lot better and the music was very technical as well! Then they’ve recorded a second album, which I do not know of. I only heard 'JaKa’. Now I hold the next studio album of JaKa called ‘Hardcore Aus Der Erste Welt’ in my
hands, and I’ll try to indicate my personal thought about this album.
No Intro’s, No talking or moaning, just some outstanding piece of work from beginning to the end. That was actually the first thought that rose in my head when I first heard the album. After listening to it almost a dozen times I could behold everything this album offers. The first song Verpackt In Plastik opens furiously with a menacing riff that shakes the eardrums. The guitar work is freaky and quite technical, and they use rhythm schemes I would never thought of using. I only can state this, as a musician, by adding a big plus for the technical aspect of the music. The vocals are a lot different, because it switches regularly from deep growling and high pitched screams. I found that I did not like some parts of the vocals, but overall I surely was satisfied. What is said above also approves to the rest of the album. It differs from Thrashy riffs in Abflussbestattung to real guitar mauling in Koscher. This was the song that gave me the laughs though, because of the real freaky vocals. The song length of the average song is around 1.45 minutes, but you can expect songs from 4 minutes to songs of 17 seconds. The last plus about this album is the real ravaging song Chemie.
If you aren’t familiar with JaKa’s music, then this album will give you a fair introduction to them. Personally I think they have surpassed themselves with this album and people who can appreciate grindcore and The Dillinger Escape Plan should give this album a try. You’ll also get a laugh when you know a little of the German language and look at the titles. Good luck!
9th studio album of Polish death metal veterans!!!
Hard to find split of two leading Spanish veterans. Pathological goregrind massacre!!!
1st full length album of one of Spain's best Gore/ Grind bands!! 26 songs for lovers of bands like GUT, C.B.T., DEAD INFECTION, IMPETIGO, CARCASS.
2nd album of this band from Spain that plays pure Brutal Death the US way with a fucking guttural voice and influences in the vein of DISGORGE (usa), PUTRID PILE, DEEDS OF FLESH, GORGASM...
FANTASTIC & AWESOME !!! Fucking GREAT album CD debut of this young talented band playing Brutal Death Metal in the best way: crushing, technical, fast, catching, intense, skillful… just A MASTERPIECE !!!
1st album by this spanish band that plays a brutal and technical Death Metal with influences in the vein of MALEVOLENT CREATION, DEICIDE, CRYPTOPSY.
From the South of the South (Almeria, Spain) comes Disharmonic, the project of Enrique Prieto, in the first days it was a one-man-band, now a three members combo: Enroque Prieto-guitars, main composer and drumprogramming, Javier Rueda-Bass and Bao Brurial-vocals, yes a female vocalist for a brutal band, and what a voice!
Recorded at Until Now Estudios owned by Enrique and under the support of Hecatombe Records, this The Creature-Artificial Ignorance is a true display of hate and wrath, with some calm parts with harmonies in this Disharmonic album. You can find in this album the power, intensity and speed of Hate Eternal, the heavy parts of Gorefest or Suffocation, the influence of Death and the calm of Aghora, and enough technical without being boring, and a touch of old school, what a mix!
Composed by an intro and ten tracks, two of them instrumentals, the intro is like a apocaliptic terror film chorus and is the prelude for The Earth`s Corner an example of what you will find here, intensity, speed, calm and variety of sounds and voices, the sound of guitars is hard and heavy, the bass lines are very inspirated and sounds very clear, voices may be one of the surprise of the album because is rare a girl as a vocalist in a brutal band, voices goes from black to brutal and with clear and sweet parts sometimes, it can remind you The Agonist, but not exactly the same. Some solos by Enrique can remind Death, especially in the instrumentals and in Go Away. The drum programing is not the typical inhuman speed, it can be played by a good drummer, in the way of Hate Eternal and some similar bands in their speedy parts. The production is clear, you can listen to all and each one of the instruments, work of Enrique at his home studio, where have been produced other albums of brutal death.
An album that breaks walls of the standard patterns of brutal music, maybe is not the ultimate newest prodigy of extremist sounds but for sure an outstanding album from an outstanding band, brutal death for the future.
3rd album of this spanish band that has become even more Grind, with shorter and more direct songs. 23 songs in a pretty NASUM/ NAPALM DEATH way with a great sound.
Modern Brutality since 2006. A new band with a new Sound. After the 'ABSCIENCE' promo, Disphere come out with their first official album 'Shinra Tensei' just imagine a sphere of sound. Imagine the extreme tension of Cephalic Carnage colliding with the progressive structures of Sikth inside this sphere.
Imagine the Meshuggah rythmic patterns pulsating against the Scarve modern surface. And the Cynic solos echoeing all around. Now make this sphere of sound explode in a mental carnage.
Disphere is this explotion.
Born from brothers Michele and Carmine Pirozzi, together with the youg drummer Gabriele, Disphere is a triothat sounds like a legion of screaming demons, creating extreme progressive, yet in your face tracks.
Disphere's first album “Shinra Tensei” is a cocept album that perfectly synthetizes the sound of the band.
Enteirely recorded, produced and mixed by Disphere, at nero sound studio. It will let you get inside this sphere of sound and make you explode with it.
I'm completely new to Italy's Disphere, I'm not surprised in the slightest, but I feel like I've missed out. This is one of the biggest surprises I've had for a long time.
To put it bluntly, Disphere's second album "Shinra Tensei" is like a slightly more straightforward version of Gorguts' "Obscura". That's about as close as I can really get, as "Obscura" was the first thing that came to mind when I first put this on - it's pure death metal that's extremely atmospheric, very melodic and at times completely bizarre with it's timing, technique and progression. Whilst nowhere near as mindfucking insane as the aforementioned Gorguts record, it gives off the exact same vibe at times, though it's certainly a much easier listen because of this. Clean-cut production and thunderous melodic grooves amidst all the chaos help make DIsphere's sound appealing to a more casual death metal fan, with tracks such as 'As Leaves Fall, This Autumn Shall Bleed' showcasing some fantastic memorable riffing despite it's rather emo title, and there're plenty of tempo changes and clean guitars mixed into everything to help break up the pace. Yeah, it's probably nothing you haven't heard before, but it's the sheer quality of the music that matters here - and quality is exactly what you'll find, though such eclectic mixing of styles may not be to everbody's taste.
Yet another brief summary from me, but as usual, there's little to say - try and get a copy of "Shinra Tensei" as soon as possible. Fans of death metal, melodic metal and technical stuff will all find something to appreciate here.

Brutal death metal is an acquired taste, no doubt about it. If you were going to introduce someone to metal, getting that person to listen to regular death metal such as Deicide or Morbid Angel would be hard enough as it is. It is just way to brutal and musically dissonant for the average music listener. Even the lyrics turn people off for sure, as the controversy surrounding even stuff like Alice Cooper is ridiculous. This one man wrecking machine, Putrid Pile, however, is set apart from its other brutal death metal peers for many reasons.
First off, the production is pretty damn excellent. It isn't so distorted that it sounds like Consume the Forsaken by Disgorge (which is still an excellent album, nonetheless) nor is it so crystal clear that it sounds like a fucking Dimmu Borgir album. It is just right, as if there was a balance between clarity and destructive brutality. The guitars are presented in a way that you can tell that this album doesn't want to stroke your dick, oh no, this album wants to tear your dick off and throw it at you. The production is better than most brutal death metal albums, and along with Orgy of Murder by Gorgasm it is one of the best I've heard recently.
The riffing is well. . . unusual for a brutal death metal, but definitely not in a bad way. If you listen to this album you'll notice one thing, it changes. It changes up the riffing in a unique way that makes each song sound different. One of the main problems with a lot of brutal death metal is the repetitive nature of the bands. Every other band sounds alike. That doesn't make it bad, but it sure as hell doesn't help the band's sound much. This album does a good job of making its songs stand out.
The drums are well-programmed. They are also technical and change it up a bit during the songs, going from blast beats to galloping Slayer-like beats on occasion. The vocals were the only real problem I had with this album. I don't know exactly why, but for some reason Sean's vocals are annoying as hell, and this is coming from a person who is a fan of AJ Magana and Mike Majewski. He uses that god awful pig squealing as well, and that just sucks horribly. If there's one vocal style that I hate, its definitely pig squealing. Even when Gorgasm and Devourment do it it just grinds my gears.
This album, despite its vocal flaws, is still quite good and if anyone is looking to get into brutal death metal than look no further. I'd even say that this is the best album Putrid Pile has ever made so far and we can only hope that Sean tops this one.
Sevared Records is very proud to announce the official re-release of the classic 1995 release from Death Metal Legends DECEASED!! "Shadows" harkens back to the deays of yore, when Swedish death/black metal was new, vile and most importantly, dangerous and excellent. Feat. Johan Norman (ex-DISSECTION, ex-DECAMERON, ex-SOULREAPER). Producent, mixed and mastered by Anders Backelin (LORD BELIAL).
For fans of DISSECTION, LORD BELIAL, NECROPHOBIC.
Voices From The Darkside:
I've never given up hope that former "Storm Of The Light's Bane" members could write something similarly monstrous. Rhythm guitarist Johan Norman went on to play in SOULREAPER, a disappointingly bland MORBID ANGEL / DISSECTION hybrid. Norman's next project was TRIDENT, which released a DISSECTION - style record called "World Destruction" in 2010. Although the style was there, the songs didn't encourage more than a first listen. Well, here we are in 2015 and it appears that Norman's 3rd strike is a charm, as TRIDENT's new EP is showing some promise. Musically, this is blast-infested Swedish Black Metal, not unlike a more embellished MARDUK (although miles better than the very vanilla "Frontschwein"). The one track that really stands above the others is the slower 'Shadows', a windswept and melancholic anthem. Lovers of classic freezing Swedish melody will bite their fuckin' nails in glee at the Black / Death majesty of this driving hymn. If TRIDENT can give us full length # 2 with 8 - 10 tracks even half as good as 'Shadows', than maybe we can finally get an album approaching DISSECTION's greatness.
Booze fighters fornicators & freaks be warned! the germen cult stars strikes back with the next kick right into your ass!fuck trends - be "In the bondage of Vice" for true lovers of sexy sleaze grind only!!!
The German sleaze grinders of Dead have been around for quite some time now, nineteen years to be exact. In this glorious career they’ve released just three full length albums and a shitload of splits and EPs and such. 2009 brings the release of their fourth full length; In The Bondage Of Vice. Sounds kinky… This nasty trio produces some nice easy-to-digest sleazy death metal and grindcore, with lyrical topics addressing alcohol, drugs and of course pussy and asses. A lot of mid-tempo grooves with the occasional high speed outbursts is the formula for this band, and in average it works like a charm. Simple, uncomplicated beer-drinking music for the depraved and sick. A nice extra on this record is a cover of The Dwarves’ ‘Free Cocaine’, a lovely message to spread of course. For the rest I don’t have a lot to mention about In The Bondage Of Vice, it’s nothing new but it sure is done nicely. If you like grind with lyrics regarding sex, rape, death, perversion and porn, Dead is your match. Try, and die! (Metalrage.com)
The stunning new tornado of originators of dutch brutal blasting death metal has arrived. The 4th album contains 14 onslaughts showing absolutely no compromises as usual.
Review from Brutalism.com:
Finally, three years after the great "Chaos Dissection Order", we can listen the new Inhume full length album "Moulding The Deformed" and once more the five crazy Dutch take no prisoners with a nuclear assault without compromises. "Moulding The Deformed" is the perfect meal for every real old school grind core death metal lover: useless to say that the album is faster than ever but this time a special note has to be done for the killer slower parts spread here and there durung the whole work... it's simply impossible to stop the headbanging!
Today Inhume is a perfectly oiled war machine: the harsh guitars of the best Napalm Death, two great brutal gore singers, a rythmical section directly from hell with a monstrous Roel Sanders behind the drum kit, destructive break down Bolt Thrower/Brutal Truth style... It's hard to find a weak point in an album built by skilful people and completely devoted to the destruction. "Moulding The Deformed" is 100% true and 100% extreme and personally I can't wait to listen these new tracks performed live on stage: without doubt one of the top undergound releases for this 2010.
Finest Swedish thrash death with the 2nd album, 9 ravaging onslaughts in the vein of MERCILESS and old KREATOR.
Finally after years of not being pressed, the third LIVIDITY album is back. Everything you have come to know LIVIDTY for is on display. Get your hands on this classick now and cumplete your collection!!!
