A death metal cover of AC/DC’s ‘Hell’s Bells’ and one automatically thinks of Six Feet Under. But also the Mexicans of Rapture have covered the classic song and it has to be said that where Six Feet Under fails dismally with its AC/DC covers Rapture pulls it off well enough. A good cover is a plus but it’s about one’s own songs right? Well, there is nothing wrong with that on this album. Brutal death metal which never gets too brutal, so, call it, some sort of brutal death metal light. Very fine handling of the instruments and songs with a head and a tail which all contain one or more memorable moments. An absolutely good album for the genre in which this band operates. Even though the grunt has been heard before it still remains very effective. Just like the blazing raging guitars and the sporadic blast beats. All in all an enjoyably pounding above average album which should be checked out by the fan of this genre.
