"Motherfucker is the word! What an absolute rager from beginning to end, but maybe not in the way you're thinking. Progressing rapidly on from where 2013's Consequences 10" left off, BACKSLIDER are a powerviolence band with an identity crisis, featuring plenty of totally rocking moments like a turbocharged Annihilation Time bolted onto joyously cheapshot noise-rock and stoner moments. The final track is their "Dopesmoker", clocking in at almost 8 minutes. The addition of a bassist has added more weight and nuance to proceedings, and the whole thing expertly skirts the line between being putting you in a very very bad mood and a very very good one."
