DEPHOSPHORUS carry on their „Astrogrind“ the way they did with their outstanding MLP „Axiom“, that has hit
several „best of 2011“ lists in several zines and blogs and their 2 split 7“es with WAKE and GREAT FALLS and are
even able to take it to the next level. There’s a guest appearence by Ryan Lipynsky (Unearthly Trance, The Howling,
Thralldom) who provides his very own stellar vocals, lyrics and lead guitars. The LP will be pressed on 180g heavy
weight black wax, packed into a beautiful gatefold sleeve with a lyric sheet and a poster crafted by the amazing Viral
Graphics.
Recorded, mixed and mastered at Northside Studios with Miltos Schimatariotis, who also provided again the live
electronics, the recordings are very agressive and organic and is a big step forward since „Axiom“.

So a band from Greece and a band from Finland walk into a bar...okay, not really, but Greece's Astro Grinders Dephosphorus and Finland's rising stars of the Unparalled Sense of Violent Groove have teamed up to release "Collaboration" LP - a nine song, discordantly brutal masterpiece that explores the more tortured, emotional and existential side of the contemporary extreme underground. But don't worry, it still totally grinds and pummels (and there's even a slow jam for grandma!)

Far more than a mere split, this is a trve kvlt collab: each band exchanged singers on each opening song and guitarists – AND the solo by Haapoja’s Pekka Kivela on Dephosphorus' tribute to Slayer "Shades of Reality", after all the release is dedicated to the late Jeff Hanneman.

Dephosphorus hail from Athens, Greece and play a unique musical style known as astrogrind: they endorse a cosmic, mind expanding aesthetic, striving to forge a creative damage path through the underground scene.

With “Collaboration LP,” Dephosphorus return hot on the heels of 2014’s “Ravenous Solemnity” with 5 tracks of their signature hybrid of grind, thrash and underground delights. Vocals dragged from the corpse of just-dead banshee, a multi-verse of blast-beats and glorious riffs that seize you like a rabid bear hug.

On the other side of the wax we have Finland’s Haapoja, who bring a bit more of a blackened approach to their fierce renditions. Contributing 4 tracks to the “Collaboration LP”, Haapoja return to form heard on their 2011 and 2013 lps, spitting angular, befowled and almost mathy riffs over nuclear-clock precision beats and raw-throated howls.

Borrowing musical sensibilities from black metal, hardcore, thrash and grindcore, Haapoja expound on themes of existential and cosmic plights – man lost in an unknowable universe with nothing but a few bleak stars to guide him.

Viral Graphics is responsible the stunning artwork, and the wax comes with a lyrics insert printed on gorgeous cardstock, with reverse board/uncoated paper jackets.

The highly anticipated debut full-length from this Greek squad. Hailing from the Black and Death Metal hotbed of Greece, War Possession indeed features a number of scene veterans within their ranks, including current and past members of such bands as Embrace of Thorns, Merciless Crucifixion and Wargoat. Since the band´s beginnings in 2008, they´ve been possessed by an unwavering desire to craft and perform punishing, war-themed Death Metal impervious to trends and modern standards, combining corpulent, ominously slow riffs with blasting brutality soaked in a blackened ambience. References to be made are the olden endeavors of Bolt Thrower, Demigod, Treblinka/Tiamat, Incantation, Therion, Archgoat, Imprecation and Asphyx. But while they´ve quietly made an impression across a demo, split and EP, at long last, War Possession reveals its most devastating assault in "Doomed to Chaos". Totaling 10 tracks in a lean and mean 40 minutes, "Doomed to Chaos" begins its slow lurch into undead life with an ominous intro, setting the stage for the audial apocalypse to come. War-torn atmosphere established, War Possession soon kick into caustic and crunch gear with a proud and powerful pulse not unlike a Panzer tank. No more and certainly no less, the band evince totally pure, unapologetically untarnished Death Metal songwriting that finds the right balance between linear and labyrinthine. Engaging the listener (and enemy!) at every decimated turn, the sonic canvas of "Doomed to Chaos" soon becomes a battlefield, as each song plays out the stark drama so endemic to war. Or, if you simply listen and prepare to be flattened, never giving a thought to their thematics, War Possession lurch and lunge in a most classic way, even down to the early 90´s-style production (with mastering by The Crypt´s Ted Tringo). Completed by equally classic, era-accurate artwork by Fendieart, "Doomed to Chaos" is diehard Death Metal for Death Metal diehards - for victory!
